Intel unveils single Chip Cloud Computer

You might see many of the topics in my blogs are related to ‘Cloud Computing’. Yes as you think i’m very much exited about Cloud and its invention in the recent days. Its now time for Intel to unveil its first single Chip Cloud Computer.

Intel has demonstrated the new 48-core Intel processor which is named as the ‘single Chip Cloud Computer’. Intel also claims that these chips will have 10-20 times the processor engines are currently working today. Imagine the speed it with which it would work ! Remarkable !

Justin R. Rattner, Intel Chief Technology Officer says,

This is the second experimental design to which our Banglore lab has contributed. Our main focus on this design was increasing energy efficiency with minimum complexity. The processor could reduce power consumption almost one-third.

“It saves power consumption”. Remarkable isn’t it? When this technology rises up, then Cloud data centres which are having having thousands of computers which are connected using cable networks will be integrated in a silicon(the size of postal stamp), thus reducing the space of the computers.

This technology keeps as astonishing. Lets wait for the release of the ‘single Chip Cloud Computer’.

Big mishap !!!

Everyone who follow my blog knew that i had changed my domain recently to a free hosting website. I was quite enjoying all the feature in it and changed the open source WordPress software for handling it in my own way. But few days back i faced a mishap(the domain got expired and i was forced to sit idle and think about my blog which i lost it) that made me to hate the web hosting company very badly and complained about this to the owner of the website and finally today got the mail from him asking to apologize him for the inconvenience and continue to host in the website. But i’m really worried about this in future. So i’m planning to fix my treasure in WordPress itself until i get my own server for hosting ;).

Thanks for following my blog friends, I will updating all latest infos here. \m/

Google Phone to be launched in January 2010

It’s Google’s month since the release of New Orkut, Google Wave, Progamming Language ‘GO’, Chrome OS preview, Google Goggles, Real Time Search and now its Google Phone. Google Phone will be using Android and it will be available as an unlocked phone. The trusted  source has mentioned the following message:

Google is building their own branded phone that they’ll sell directly and through retailers. They were long planning to have the phone be available by the holidays, but it has now slipped to early 2010. The phone will be produced by a major phone manufacturer but will only have Google branding (Microsoft did the same thing with their first Zunes, which were built by Toshiba).

There won’t be any negotiation or compromise over the phone’s design of features – Google is dictating every last piece of it. No splintering of the Android OS that makes some applications unusable. Like the iPhone for Apple, this phone will be Google’s pure vision of what a phone should be.

Google Phone - First view

The Google Phone is being built by HTC with the latest technology and one of the person who has seen the mobile phone in action has commented that it is very very fast, super fast indeed. We can expect the mobile to be launched by the end of January and it will make waves as its another remarkable venture from Google. This mobile is said to be released with 2 formats, one with touch screen and another with mic activated voice to text conversion which types by itself when you want to write notes or type an email.

Mal, Usha, Sandya and Me waiting for something good to happen in future (mere wasting of time) hence everyone made it to the event missing our US return JK (return or settled). This post is dedicated for you JK.

Before 6 months, it was JK who left for US for his future and enjoying* his life there and its now GP’s turn to leave India and pursue her studies abroad in US also usha turned 22 on December 5, 2009. To celebrate both these occasions we all(abi, nachi, peri, raj, gp, mal, usha, karthika, raji, sandya and me) had gathered for a treat from GP at ‘Blur Cafe’ in Satyam Cinemas on December 8, 2009.

The day started off with I getting up at 11am and we had arranged the treat for lunch at 1pm. I started from my place at 12 15pm and reached Blur at around 1 30pm and could see GP and Raj sitting alone expecting us. After few minutes karthika, mal, raji and usha arrived to the scene and made their presence there. Then arrived our IITian Abi with Sandya. Finally arrived Nachi and Peri. On the way Nachi has given a party to some of his friends whom he meets often :P.

Finished blowing off a cake which has been ordered for Usha and GP. At last had our lunch and vacated the place around 3 30pm. Next moved to Du Bowl at Egmore to spend some more time to end the day with a pleasant note. We reached the place and found that the place for full and we waited for nearly 30mins meanwhile we were chit chatting, teasing and having fun at the Cafe there. Then enjoyed having fun there till the end. At last we bid a Bon Voyage to GP. Hope she excells well in her MS and wishing her success life.

Beginner: What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing is a computing technology similar to Grid Computing, Distributed Computing, Parallel Computing, etc. This Cloud Computing was first coined on February 24, 2007 and an official website was launched for all tracking all Cloud Computing infos related to research, conference and much more. The website is Cloud Computing Expo. This is similar to the IEEE spectrum which we know very well. Cloud Computing Expo maintains all information you want to know about Cloud Computing and related terms and technologies involved in the Cloud environment.

What is Cloud Computing?

Now, lets come to the basic understanding of ‘What is Cloud Computing?’. Cloud Computing is a rapidly increasing architecture which most of the top websites uses for making their applications available to all users over the internet, which is the Cloud. Cloud is the term which we use to refer internet since it is a combination of various server and client systems. Thus the data which we store is present only in the Cloud(Internet) and we can access it from anywhere and anytime.

Cloud Computing in day-to-day life

Youtube, Yahoo Mail, Google Maps, Google Docs, etc. are using Cloud Computing for making their application which is available to everyone from anywhere in the Globe, the only criteria is that they all need to be connected to the internet ie, Cloud. Hence everyone is using Cloud Computing in their day-to-day life either knowing it or unknowing it.

Why Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing provides support to various technologies like SaaS(Software As a Service), IaaS(Infrastructure as a Service), HaaS(Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS(Platform as a Service), etc. With the use of these services offered by Cloud, we can create a web application that doesnt need any software(SaaS), hardware(Haas), specific platform(PaaS) or infrastructure(IaaS). This is why everyone opt for Cloud Computing. A typical example is Google Docs which has inbuild word, powerpoint, etc. when we doesnot have MS office or Open office installed in our system we can use Google Docs for performing the same operation which we do as a Desktop Application, remember its a web application which runs on a Cloud.

P.S. This topic aims at providing an clear cut understanding about What is Cloud, Why we are using Cloud and how we are using them in day-to-day life.

Evening light

December 1, 2009 everyone celebrated the festival of evening lights named “Karthigai Deepam” here in Chennai. It will be awesome to see every house lighted with agal vilakku(made of clay). Everyone who celebrate Deepavali will be conscious of this festival which marks the Karthigai month’s Karthigai thirunaal. I finished lighting up my house along with my sister and just cruised along the road side to take a glimpse of the lights set up in the other house.

Our Pooja Room lighted :)

Our Pooja Room lighted 🙂

Way that leads to our house :)

Way that leads to our house 🙂

The light made by the small fire was simply vivid as it is the real beauty of nature. But the same fire can gut the building, mostly huts which are often gutted by them. We need to just take the beauty of the nature and leave behind the danger that causes to humans after all we live daily by destroying nature only, no one can deny it.

2012 – We were warned

December 21, 2012 is this the last date on which i will write my blog? Who knows? :-O God only knows the answer for this question.

I came across 2 things which says world will end for sure one says on Dec 21, 2012 and the other proves that it may take place on a later date. Here are they.

December 21, 2012

December 21, 2012

First Fact:

A planet named NIBRU revolves around the sun and it takes 3600 years to attain one complete revolution. The path of the planet is said to cross between Earth and the Sun. Also when it reaches nearer, it will be seen like a second sun in the shape of the moon. At this time, the earth will stop its rotation and poles will be shifting, Earth quakes will occur, Tsunami will be seen, etc.

Second Fact:

Scientist say that if the Global Warming increases very rapidly the World will end for sure but not so soon(Dec 21, 2012). They are pretty sure about it.

These were just facts, the world may end or may not. Lets hope for the best. Enjoy Every Moment. 🙂
